Rice - Super-quick back who exploded into the Owls[apos] top rushing threat as a sophomore in 2003 before suffering through injury problems a year later... Listed as a backup at H-back entering the fall... Enters his senior season with 863 career yards on 133 carries, an average of 6.5 yards per attempt. 2004: Played in only five games due to injury, starting the final three at left halfback... Gained 143 yards on 33 carries as a junior... Also caught one pass for 51 yards against Tulsa... Top rushing total was 65 yards on 13 attempts at UTEP... Had a 40-yard run vs. Fresno State, his longest of the season. 2003: Played in 11 games, starting nine, to earn his first letter... Won a George R. Brown Offense Award as Rice[apos]s top running back as a sophomore... Led Rice in rushing with 714 yards on 98 carries, averaging 7.3 yards per attempt... That average ranked second among all Division 1-A backs in `03... Gained at least 100 yards in three games: 101 at Duke, 128 vs. Nevada, and 127 at Louisiana Tech...
