Bio
Rice -- Spirited youngster who is part of Rice[apos]s group of talented linebackers... Will compete with Omeke Alikor for time at the stud inside linebacker position. 2004: Played in all 11 games with four starts to earn his first letter... Academic all-WAC selection... Totaled 35 tackles on the season (22 primary) with five for 16 yards in losses... Had 3.5 sacks for 12 yards, including two in the opening win over Houston at Reliant Stadium... Had a career-best eight tackles in the win over Hawaii, and had seven in the double-overtime loss at UTEP... Recovered a fumble against SJSU and intercepted his first pass with a 17-yard return at UTEP... Tackled SMU quarterback Jared Romo in the end zone, resulting in an Owl safety. 2003: Redshirt.
High School -- 2003 graduate of Pontiac Township High... Class 5A all-state selection... Coached by David Young... Four-time all-Corn Belt Conference performer on defense and the only unanimous selection... Earned the conference offensive honors as a junior... Twice named to the Pontiac Daily Leader[apos]s all-area team, and to all-state teams as selected by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, and Champaign News-Gazette... Three-time member of the Bloomington Pantagraph[apos]s all-area team... Had 100 tackles for the Indians as a senior, helping his team to a 12-2 record... PTHS reached the Class 5A state title game in 2002 after playing in the Class 4A playoffs in 1999-01... Had 127 tackles, five sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries as a junior... Holds the school record with 420 career tackles... Also competed in baseball and basketball... Honor roll student... Senior class president.
