
Tailgate Owley, the official Rice Athletics tailgate area, is located directly east of Rice Stadium between West Lot 2/3 and the stadium. In Tailgate Owley, Rice fans of all ages can enjoy a great pre-game experience. The area is full of music, inflatable games, pre-game performances and more. Rice sponsors will also be on hand with a variety of activities and special offerings. Fans can come hungry to Tailgate Owley as well with Houston area food trucks supplying tasty treats on select game days.
Want to be right in the middle of all the action? Tailgate spaces are available in Tailgate Owley based on the size of your group with single game and full season options. You can enjoy tailgating with your fellow Owls fans in this premium area located right by Rice Stadium. As part of your premium reservation, you will have access to a Rice Athletics customer service representative who will assist you with all of your tailgating needs, including food and beverage catering options as well as rentals of tents, tables or chairs if needed. Is tailgating in Rice Stadium parking lot free?
Areas outside of Tailgate Owley are available for tailgating at no expense on a first come, first served basis, unless marked otherwise. Tailgating in parking lots at your vehicle is free. Please keep in mind that when tailgating at your vehicle, set-up in adjoining parking spaces or in fire lanes are not allowed.
Can I bring my RV to Tailgate Owley?
RV tailgating is permitted in West Lot 6. Please call Parking at 713-348-2020 to reserve your RV space.
May I use a generator?
Generators are not allowed in Rice Stadium parking lots. We strongly suggest marine batteries and inverters.
How should I dispose of hot coals?
Hot coals must be doused with water and properly disposed of in specially designated coal dumpsters to prevent fires. Fires built on the ground and open fire pit devices are prohibited. Fire extinguishers are required when using charcoal grills at your tailgate.
Will I be able to consume alcohol throughout the tailgate area?
Alcohol consumption is permitted in the parking lot and official tailgate areas for fans 21 and over (no glass bottles).
Can I promote an off-campus event from a tailgating site?
No banners promoting a product nor a corporation may be hung without the consent of Rice Athletics Marketing & Learfield Sports Marketing (corporate tailgates may identify the company on its site).
