Rice -- Talented athlete who should be one of the top defensive players in Conference USA in 2005... High-energy player who has made an impact on the Owl defense since his freshman season... Listed on most C-USA preseason honor teams, and is on the watch list for the Hendricks Trophy as the nation[apos]s best defensive end... Moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore to lead the D-line in tackles, TFLs and sacks, repeating as a junior... Enters his senior season with 169 career tackles (101 primary), including 28 for 124 yards in losses... Has 12 career sacks (fifth all-time at Rice) and 28 TFLs (tied for seventh)... Has started the last 23 games for the Owls at defensive end. 2004: Selected first-team all-Western Athletic Conference by the league coaches... CoSIDA academic all-district and an academic all-WAC team member... Shared a Jess Neely Defense Award with Jeremy Calahan as the Owls[apos] top defensive lineman... Four of his TFLs came against Duke, and he added two more in the win at Louisiana Tech... Those 12 TFLs equaled the sixth-best season total ever at Rice... Led the Owls with four fumbles recovered, all coming in the final three games of the season... Recovered two fumbles at La.Tech, and forced fumbles against Houston and SJSU. 2002: Recorded 19 tackles (16 primary) in nine games for the Owls... Had two tackles for loss amassing five yards... Recovered one fumble playing as a true freshman.
