2018: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Worked his way into 13 starts, including 12 at catcher and once as the starting designated hitter… Sensational working with Rice pitchers, who enjoyed a composite 2.77 ERA and .217 opponents’ batting average in 11 of his 12 starts behind the plate… Recorded a career-high 14 defensive putouts in a start on the road at C-USA foe UTSA to tie for the second-highest total by an Owl all season long… Threw out three runners attempting to steal a base… Started behind the plate and collected his first career base hit on the road against national power Stanford with a double into the Sunken Diamond’s right field corner… Blasted first career home run in a conference game against Old Dominion in front of the Reckling Park fans… Drew a total of six walks, three of which were in a single game at UTSA.
2017: Made season debut behind the plate at home at Reckling Park against a Sam Houston team that went on to reach a NCAA Super Regional... Had one at bat on the season... Played in the California Collegiate League over the summer (Rockville), maintaining a .328 average with a pair of home runs in 67 at bats over 26 games.
2016: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Appeared in four games, each time as a defensive replacement behind the plate for senior Hunter Kopycinski... Made collegiate debut catching Dane Myers against crosstown rival Houston on May 10... Registered a career-high two put outs in the game, including hanging on to the ball to make a tag on a play at the plate... Returned four days later in a C-USA league game against eventual regular season champion Florida Atlantic, where he caught Nick Orewiler in the top of the eighth inning before logging his first official at bat in the bottom of the ninth... Caught Ben Schragger and Brent Schwarz in the series finale vs. Houston (May 17) before logging final appearance in the NCAA Tournament... Caught the final four innings for Ricardo Salinas and Willy Amador as the Owls coasted to a 15-0 postseason win... Scored the game's second-to-last run after getting hit by a pitch to lead off the ninth inning... Sprinted home from second base on Dayne Wunderlich's single through the left side... Played in the Valley Baseball League (Charlottesville) over the summer... 2015: Did not appear in any games in first collegiate season, but provided a valuable service to the team by working as a catcher in the bullpen... Helped with the daily preparation of one of the nation's top pitching staffs in practices and games.
