2024: Led the Owls in wins (5), innings (89.1), and strikeouts (78) and tied for the lead in start (15) and complete games (1)… On the season, tied for the AAC lead in fewest homers (4) and ranked fifth in innings, sixth in strikeouts looking (26), ninth in strikeouts, and tenth in ERA (4.23)… In conference games, he was second in innings (57.2), third in K’s looking (18), fifth in strikeouts (48), and tied for sixth in fewest homers (3)… Has started 26 of 28 series openers since the start of 2023, missing only the Easter Weekend series openers each year on Thursday…. Ended the season with 32 consecutive starts, the most by an Owl since Matt Canterino started 32 in a row in 2017-18... 2023: First-team, All-Conference USA selection and invited to attend the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp after a standout season at the front of the Owls’ rotation … Finished the regular season ranked second in C-USA with a 2.75 ERA, tied for second in innings (85), and ranked fifth in strikeouts (80), strikeouts looking (26), and opponent's batting average (.231) … Made 15 consecutive starts, 14 as the series opener, the most since Matt Canterino started 15 straight in 2019 … Owls scored 39 runs for him in his 15 starts, 24 in 10 C-USA starts (22 in his last 8) ... Left seven of his starts with the lead and trailed in just three ... Rice was 6-9 in his starts ...Saw his streak of 10 straight series-opening starts end at MTSU when he was pushed back to Saturday due to a forecast of rain on Friday … Became the first Owl since 2019 to be named C-USA Pitcher of the Week for his 1-0 win at FAU on March 30 ... 2022: Appeared in 13 games with 10 starts (tied for second on the team) in his freshman campaign… Finished the season with a 2-3 record and a 4.19 ERA, tops among the starters… Was 1-1 with a 3.97 ERA in four games (three starts) in Conference USA action… Winning pitcher in the Owls’ first and last wins of 2022… Made his collegiate debut at Texas on 2/20 and his starting debut three days later against HBU… He worked six shutout innings, allowed a pair of hits and struck out four while throwing just 56 pitches to earn both his and head coach Jose Cruz Jr.’s first career victories… Closed the season with a win at FIU in the season finale, (5.1, 3,1,0,1,0)… Lowered his ERA from 5.29 to 4.19 in his last two starts (Game 3 vs. Houston on 5/17 and at FIU on 5/21) by allowing only one earned run in 10.2 innings, with seven hits, one walk and no strikeouts… Became the first Owl to start three Silver Glove games in the same season since Josh Baker in 2004 and went on to be named to the All-Silver Glove team, compiling a 4.22 ERA in 10 innings of work… 2-0 with a 2.38 ERA in seven games (five starts) on the road while holding hitters to a .226 batting average.
