Honors at Rice
2025: Made eight appearances as a senior after missing most of the first two months… Made his season debut vs. Villanova on 2/14 at the Puerto Rico Baseball Challenge in Ponce, Puerto Rico and did not see additional action until 4/2 vs. UTRGV… Worked a season-long two innings at UAB on 4/26, shutting out the Blazers on two hits… Did not allow a run in three outings from 4/26 to 5/11… Awarded a Zeff Fellowship and will spend his first year after graduation traveling to Japan, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Australia, Mexico, and possibly other countries, studying how baseball shapes the culture and identity of each.
2024: 2-0 with a career-best 4.86 ERA in 10 appearances while striking out a career-best 18 in 16.2 innings and holding hitters to a career-low .186 batting average… Made six appearances in May, tying for second on the team after just four to open the season… 1-0 with a 4.63 ERA in May with 12 strikeouts in 11.2 innings… Picked up his second win of the year with three hitless innings vs. TSU on 5.14… Worked two scoreless innings and struck out three in his first AAC action in Game One vs. FAU on 5/11… Earned his first win with a season-best 3.2 innings and a career-high five strikeouts vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi on 4/10… Second win came courtesy of three shutout innings vs. Texas Southern... Earned All-Star honors while pitching for Charlottesville in the Valley League over the summer… was 3-0 with an 0.58 ERA in eight games (seven starts) and also started the All-Star Game.
2023: Made 12 appearances, 11 in relief and one start… Allowed only one hit and fanned a career-high four in four shutout innings in relief vs. Houston on 5/3... Did not allow a run in six of 11 appearances… Stranded eight of nine inherited runners. Pitched for Walnut Creek in the California League in the summer along with teammate Jack Ben-Shoshan… Made 10 appearances (9 starts) and was 1-2 with a 4.85 ERA and 1.72 WHIP. Fanning 28 in 39 innings.
2022; Made 14 appearances, including three starts, in his initial campaign with the Owls… 1-0 with a 4.40 ERA in 11 relief outings, including a 1.13 ERA in four relief outings in Conference USA action… Picked up his first career win with three innings in relief vs. SFA on 3/15… Worked a career-long four innings out of the pen at Charlotte on 5/7.
Prior to Rice- 2021 District 17-6A Pitcher of the Year at Stratford for coach Keith Humphreys…Posted a 7-1 record with a 1.83 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 53.2 innings as the Spartans reached the second round of the 6A state playoffs… A three-year starter in baseball and a two-year starter in basketball…Valedictorian… National Merit Scholar Qualifier.
