Honors at Rice
2025: Hit .256 in 35 games (23 starts) before missing the final three weeks of the season with an injury… Only made one start in the first 17 games, but then started 19 of the next 24… Missed the UAB series but returned against Charlotte, but suffered a season-ending injury while diving for a ball in the second inning of the opener vs. Wichita State and missed the remainder of the season… Homered vs. HCU on 3/17 to spark a three-run eighth as the Owls won 6-2 to gain a split in the series… Drove in a career-high three with a pinch-hit homer vs. East Carolina on 3/30… Hit .357 for the year when entering a game as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement (5x14), including a .333 average as a pinch hitter (3x9)…. Hitting .467 (7x15) in his career as a pinch hitter.
2024: Became a fixture in the lineup over the final 45 games and led the team with 11 HBP, second in runs (31), third vs. RHP (.297), fourth in OBP (.374), and was also the Owls’ most effective pinch hitter when not starting a game (3x6)… Had only eight plate appearances in the first 14 games and was 1x6… Entered the starting lineup in the third game at Hawaii and went on to start 40 of the remaining 45 games… Third on the team with a .293 average in AAC games and was second in OBP (.391) and runs (15), third in hits (27), tied for second in doubles (5) and tied for third with 12 RBI in conference games… Reached base in 27 of his last 31 games and drove in 14 runs in his last 24 vs. just two in his first 26 games… Drove in the game-winner with a bunt single in the bottom of the 10th to give the Owls a walk-off win vs. UTSA on 4/26… Hit .323 in 15 starts in April (21x65) as the Owls ended the month 8-7… Second on the team with a .305 average at Reckling Park…. Doubled in four straight games from 4/9-13.
2023: Recorded a hit in 10 of 13 starts... Picked up his first career hit and his first career start (at DH on 3/11 vs. HCU) ... Slapped a pinch-hit, RBI single in the first game of the doubleheader vs. LA Tech on 4/8, earning him his first career start in the field in game two (left field)… Drove in the first run in the Owls’ 4-0 win over the Bulldogs with an RBI single in the first inning… Went on to hit in five straight from 4/8-4/14… Picked up his first career extra-base hit with a double vs. Lamar on 4/11.
Prior to Rice: Led Prosper to a 25-13 record as a senior while repeating as District 5-6A champions and reaching the 6A regional quarterfinals for the second straight year…First team All-District 5-6A and second team all-state honors as a senior for coach Scott Holder…. Hit .327 with two homers, four triples, and five doubles… Also lettered three times in football… Uncle (Ty Hanson) played baseball at UCF.
