2021: Led the staff with a 3.88 ERA in 17 appearances (7 starts) while posting a 3-4 record and adding one save… 2-2 with a 3.82 ERA in 10 appearances (4 starts) in C-USA action… Picked up wins in a start vs. HBU on 3/9 (6,2,1,1,0,11) and in relief at UTSA on 4/23 (5,4,0,0,0,8) and vs. Charlotte on 5/15 (4.2,2,3,3,6,4)… 2-1 with a 2.92 ERA in 10 relief appearances (8 ER in 24.2 IP; 26 K/14 BB)… Did not allow a run over 14.2 innings over six appearances from 4/17-5/9 before surrendering a 2-out run at UAB… Topped his previous single-game high for strikeouts (5) seven times, including a team-high 11 vs. HBU… Strikeout total was the most for an Owl since Matt Canterino fanned 11 vs. WKU on 5/3/19.
2020: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Led the staff in appearances (7) and ERA (3.38), and was tied for second in starts (3)… Had allowed only one earned run throughout 8.0 innings when the collegiate season came to an early end… Made three midweek starts vs. Houston, Texas A&M, and Texas State… Pitched a career-long 3.0 innings against Houston, allowing a run on three hits with a career-high five strikeouts… Averaged 8.1 strikeouts per 9.0 innings, the third-best mark on the staff (min. 10 innings)… Did not allow an earned run in any of his four relief appearances.
2019: Worked his way into six relief appearances in his first season of Division I baseball… Was the lone left-handed option out of the bullpen… Registered three strikeouts in a scoreless inning in his collegiate debut the opening weekend of the season vs. Rhode Island… Pitched 1.0 inning without allowing an earned run at Texas A&M… Totaled seven strikeouts for 5.2 innings, an average of 11.1 strikeouts per 9.0 innings.
Prior to Rice: Ranked among the Top 12 left-handed prep pitchers in the state in 2018 by PerfectGame as a senior at Friendswood HS for coached by Steve Hecker… Earned second-team All-District 24-6A honors as a senior… First team all-district honoree in 2017 after posting an 11-4 record with a 0.84 ERA.
