Owls Open Training Program With Costa Rica Exhibition

Only a few days into its off-season training program, the Rice soccer team hosted the women's national team of Costa Rica in an exhibition match Friday night (Jan. 24) at Holloway Field.

Costa Rica won the exhibition by a 3-0 score. The Owls had a solid chance to get on the board in the 67th minute. Lianne Mananquil spun and punched a shot on-goal from just inside the 18, but the attempt skipped just outside the right post. Rice head coach Brian Lee shared his thoughts on the match in the above video.
