TULSA – The Rice soccer team dropped their regular season finale 4-0 on the road against Tulsa Thursday night. The Owls enter the American Conference Tournament as the sixth seed with a record of 9-3-5 (3-2-5 American).
How It Happened
The Golden Hurricane jumped in front just 14 minutes into the match, with Allie Love nearly tying things moments later, but her shot was saved to keep Tulsa ahead. Lauren Pickup later had another chance to even the match, but the defense held strong again. Tulsa led 2-0 at the half.
Another Tulsa goal to open the second half pushed the lead up to three. Olivia Duvall and Dayo Tennyson later saw their shots saved as the Owls continued to be kept off the board. One last goal in the final minutes gave the Golden Hurricane the 4-0 win.
