2007: Lead the team with 49 yards lost on his six tackles behind the line, including three sacks for 34 yards lost ... did not have a TFL in his career prior to this year.... did not have a TFL in his career prior to this year... Two of his three sacks have come late in Owl wins to foil rallies....sacked UTEP QB Trevor Vittatoe on fourth down to give the Owls the ball back with less than two minutes left and a 56-48 lead... Recorded his first two career sacks (for a loss of 13 yards) against Southern Miss, including the game-clinching sack and forced fumble with less than a minute left in the game, while matching his career-high with four total tackles... Credited with a career-high eight tackles at Marshall, including a pair for loss.
2006: Steady back-up in the defensive backfield for the third straight year.
2005: Played in 10 games as a reserve dfensive back and on special teams... Credited with 12 tackles (8 primary)... Had a season-high three stops at East Carolina... 2004: Played in nine games to pick up his first letter, contributing mostly on special teams... Credited with four tackles (all primary) as a freshman... Had two tackles against Fresno State. 2003: Redshirt.
High School -- 2003 graduate of Thorndale High near Austin... Two-time all-District 27-A performer for coach Gary Jack... The Bulldogs[apos] team captain as a senior and the league MVP as a free safety and quarterback... Honorable mention all-state as a defensive back... Academic all-district selection as a senior... Led the team to an 11-2 record and regional championship... Earned a host of varsity letters in a numbers of sports including baseball (4), track and field (4), basketball (2) and golf... State qualifier on the Bulldogs[apos] 4x100-meter relay team as a junior, and regional qualifier in four events... Second team all-district catcher... Won academic excellent awards in math, reading and history.
