Anyanwu Honored by Dave Campbell's Texas Football

Midseason All-Texas college second team
Rice rush end Tony Anyanwu has been named to Dave Campbell's Texas Footbal's Midseason All-Texas College second team, which was announced by the publication on Tuesday.
In his first season with the Owls after transferring from Stephen F. Austin, Anyanwu leads the Owls with 24 total quarterback pressures and 17 hurries and is second on the team with three sacks while compiling a career-high 23 tackles.
He set a career-high with four tackles in the season-opener at Louisiana and his forced fumble set up the Owls' winning touchdown. He matched that tackle total with four against Houston in his first start as an Owl.
Anyanwu began his career at Baylor before transferring to SFA where he was tied for fifth in the Southland Conference with five sacks.
Rice returns to action on Saturday, October 25 when the Owls host UConn at 2 p.m. as part of the Owls' Hall of Fame Weekend.
Single game tickets for Rice's Hall of Fame weekend game against UConn are still available. In addition to the option to purchase individual game tickets, Owl fans also have the option to create their own customized mini plan.
