Martz Named TopDrawer Team of the Week Honorable Mention

HOUSTON – The weekly honors continue for the Rice soccer team, with Carsyn Martz being named to the TopDrawer Team of the Week, earning an honorable mention, the organization announced.
"Carsyn transitioned to [center midfielder] last spring and continues to improve with each game," said Rice soccer head coach Brian Lee.
Martz played in 145 of the team's 161 minutes played during the week. Martz recorded three points during Rice's 4-0 win against Texas Southern last Sunday, scoring her first goal of the season and recording an assist on the game-winning goal.
Martz led the Owls' defensive efforts during the week, only surrendering one goal. Rice went 2-0 on the week, adding a 2-1 win over Lamar.
Rice earned two conference honors Monday, with Faith Hutchins (AAC Goalkeeper of the Week) and Allie Love (AAC Freshman of the Week) also receiving honors for the week.
The Owls' homestand will continue Thursday night against Louisiana.
