IRVING – The Rice soccer team took two of the four weekly conference awards for this week, with Faith Hutchins earning AAC Goalkeeper of the Week and Allie Love being named AAC Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
"Faith has started strong and is only scratching the surface of what she can become," said Rice head coach Brian Lee. "Allie has improved with each game. She is a worker who wants to help the team any way she can. Her best is yet to come."
Hutchins earns her second AAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor, also receiving the honor on week one (8-19). She played all 160 minutes in goal, leading the Owls to a 2-0 week. Hutchins had a 0.5 goals against average on the week, surrendering one goal while making 11 saves. She recorded her second shutout of the season with a 4-0 win over Texas Southern.
