
Owls Drop Road Contest to Tulsa

TULSA - Kallie McKinney netted her third goal of the season to tie the match early in the second half, but a late Golden Hurricane goal gave Tulsa a 2-1 victory Thursday afternoon at Hurricane Stadium.
How It Happened
The Owls applied pressure early, with Ellen Halseth and Jordyn Mariam firing shots in the opening minute. Piper Biziorek had a chance just shy of the tenth minute, but Tatum Sanders was there to make the save. Rice had another opportunity at the 26:18 mark, but McKinney's shot and Sarah Piper's rebound shot were both saved to keep the match scoreless. Tulsa struck first with just under three minutes left in the half off a goal from Jadyn Chee, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.
McKinney looked to tie the match in the opening minutes of the second half, but her shot was denied by Sanders. A few minutes later, Natalie Gorji sent a pass into the box where McKinney was able to send the ball to the back of the net to tie the match at the 53:49 mark. Tulsa came right back with a chance to retake the lead, but Hannah Pimentel made a point-blank save to keep the match tied. The Owls had a look minutes later on a free kick, but McKinney's header just went over the top of the goal. Tulsa took the lead at the 75:53 mark after a goal from Jordan Frederick as the Golden Hurricane went on to win 2-1.

The Owls will return home next Thursday night when the team welcomes No. 12 Memphis to Holloway Field.
