Chugh Takes Second at Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational

Boulder, Colo. — Sophomore Raghav Chugh finished six-under par, taking second-place at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational for the best tournament finish of his career.
Chugh finished one stroke behind Utah Valley's Brady McKinlay for medalist honors.
Chugh finished the second round with a 68 and closed with a 69, becoming the first Owl to shoot in the 60's all three rounds since Michael Whitehead at the 2011 Border Olympics. The New Dehli, India native tied the 36-hole school record (135) and his 54-hole score of 204 tied the second lowest in school history.
He has three rounds in the 60's this year and nine in his career. He's also recorded five rounds of par or better this year and he has 20 in his career.
Rice took third-place at three-over par, four strokes behind first-place Wyoming. The Owls set school records for 36-hole (555) and 54-hole scores (843)
Freshman Henry Daly finished the second round with a 67 before closing with a 73 to tie for 11th-place at one-under par. He became the first Owl to start the season with consecutive top-20 finishes since Jake Benson in 2019-20, who had three straight to start the year. He also has four rounds in the 60's this year and four rounds of par or better.
Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer had the best finish of his career, tying for 14th-place. He closed the second round with a 72 before carding a 71 to finish one-over par. He set career-lows for 36-hole (140) and 54-hole score (211).
Freshman Lukas Boandl finished nine-over par in a tie for 59th-place. He finished the second round with a 74 before closing with a 75. Senior Forrest Park finished in 81st-place at 15-over par after posting a 74-77.
