HOUSTON — Rice men's golf coach Justin Emil has announced the signing of transfer Nolan Kuszyk (La Cañada Flintridge, Calif./Cal Poly) to a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 season.
"Nolan brings the talent, competitiveness, and character we are looking for in our program," said Emil. "We believe he'll make an immediate impact and help us continue building toward our championship goals."
Kuszyk, who spent the last two years at Cal Poly, was a two-time member of the All-Big West Conference team. This past year, he was second on the team with a 72.54 stroke average. He led the team with three top 10 and five top 20 finishes, and 14 rounds of par or better. He tied the best finish of his career at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational (3/23-24), where he fired a final round 66 to finish a career-best -7.
As a freshman, he was second on the team with a 73.10 stroke average, 10 rounds of par or better, and four rounds in the 60's. He had three top 20 finishes, including a season-best tie for fifth-place at the Mesquite Desert Classic (2/16-18), where he closed with rounds of 69-67 to finish at -6.
Kuszyk joins Alex Kerins (Kildare, Ireland) in the 2026-27 signing class.
