Men’s Golf Announces 2026-27 Schedule

HOUSTON, Texas — Rice men's golf coach Justin Emil announced the release of the 2026-27 schedule Tuesday morning.
After one of the most memorable seasons in school history, the Owls will play a challenging 11-tournament slate that will see them compete in three different states and two countries, including six tournaments in Texas.
"We are very fortunate to be able to put together such a strong schedule," said Emil. "We have an incredible group of student-athletes and this schedule is a runway for us to get to Nationals. Also, individually our student-athletes have the opportunity to play well enough to have a shot at PGA TourU."
Rice opens the season with four tournaments in Texas, beginning with the prestigious Jackson T. Stephens Cup, Sept. 14-16. The JTS Cup is a six team field that features Rice, Houston, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Utah. The format includes 54 holes of stroke play followed by an 18-hole match play final round.
The following week, Rice hosts the 13th annual Bayou City Collegiate Classic, Sept. 21-22, at Westwood Golf Club in Houston. The Owls are looking for their second straight championship in the event.
For the third straight year, Rice heads to Dallas Oct. 4-6 to take part in the Trinity Forest Invitational. The Owls will be looking to defend their title after taking co-championship honors last year with USC.
Rice then travels to Granbury, Texas for the inaugural Abilene Christian Intercollegiate, Oct. 19-21.
For the fourth consecutive season, the fall slate concludes at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, played Oct. 31-Nov. 1 in Loxley, Ala., and hosted by South Alabama.
Rice begins the spring campaign on Feb. 8-9, when it will send individuals to the Bentwater Intercollegiate in Montgomery, hosted by Sam Houston.
The team portion of its spring slate begins Feb. 15-16, when it heads to Mobile, Ala., for the Hal Williams Collegiate. It will be the second tournament of the year hosted by South Alabama.
The Owls travel to Cabo, Mexico Feb. 28-Mar. 2, for the prestigious Cabo Collegiate. It is the 13th straight year Rice will participate in the event.
Rice then returns home for the All-American Intercollegiate (Mar. 15-16), played at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble and hosted by Houston.
A week later, the Owls travel to West Palm Beach, Fla., for the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, Mar. 22-23, and hosted by Houston.
The regular season concludes on Apr. 10-11 at the Aggie Invitational, played in Bryan, Texas and hosted by Texas A&M.
The Owls begin postseason play at the American Championship, Apr. 25-27, played at the Ritz Carlton Members Club in Sarasota, Fla.
NCAA Regionals take place May 17-19 at campus sites, with Texas hosting the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif., May 28-June 2.
The Owls return six members from last year's team that earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Regionals.
