Men’s Golfers Named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

HOUSTON — Men's Golfers Lukas Boandl, Henry Daly, Reggie Zhu, and Daniel Zou have been named Cobalt Golf Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholars, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Boandl earns the honor for the third straight season. A unanimous American All-Conference selection, he became just the second Owls to earn PING All-Central Region honors. He set Rice season records in stroke average (70.46), average to par (-1.11), rounds of par or better (25), and rounds in the 60's (15), while leading the team with 139 birdies, three top five, four top 10, and nine top 20 finishes. He earned his third career victory at the Trinity Forest Invitational, finishing -12 after setting the school 36-hole score record with a 132.
Daly was third on the team with a 72.89 stroke average, a 1.37 average to par, and 17 rounds of par or better. He was second with 130 birdies and added six rounds in the 60's. Daly had a career-best tie for fourth-place finish at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, where he tied his career-low round of 67 in the first round.
Zhu earns the honor for the second straight season. He averaged 72.91 strokes per round, while recording 15 rounds of par or better and four rounds in the 60's. He had his best finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational, finishing in 12th-place. He also fired a career-best 65 in the final round of the NCAA Athens Regional.
Zou was second on the team with a 71.49 stroke average, a -0.09 average to par, 21 rounds of par or better, and eight rounds in the 60's to earn American All-Conference honors for the second straight year. Zou had his best finish at the American Championship, tying for fifth-place at -11 after closing the tournament with a bogey-free 64, the second lowest round in school history.
Rice opens the 2026-27 season on Sept. 14-16 at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in Frisco, Texas.
