No. 10 LSU outgained Rice 552-to-198 as the Owls fell, 42-10, Saturday night at Tiger Stadium.
The Story
LSU scored on four of its first five possession. Haden Tobola connected on a career-long 51-yard field goal late in the first half to send Rice into halftime trailing, 28-3. The Tigers extended its lead to 42-3 early in the fourth quarter. But, the Owls went 75-yards in 13 plays, culminating in Juma Otoviano's five-yard touchdown run, the first of his career. Aston Walter ran a career-high 23 times for 72 yards and D' Angelo Ellis caught three passes for 66 yards.

- RB Aston Walter ran a career-high 23 times for a career-high tying 72 yards.

- K Haden Tobola connected on a career-long 51-yard field goal in the second quarter. It was his 10th field goal of the year and the 26th of his career.
- It was the first 50-yard field goal since Chris Boswell's 50-yarder at New Mexico State on Oct. 19, 2013 and the longest since Boswell's 56-yarder against Kansas on Sept. 14, 2013.
- P Jack Fox had three punts of 50 yards, giving him 24 on the year.
- WR D' Angelo Ellis caught three passes for 66 yards.
- Ellis' 27-yard reception in the fourth quarter was the longest of his career.
- LB Treshawn Chamberlain set a career-high with 10 tackles. It's his first career double-digit tackle game.
- Chamberlain becomes the fourth player this year with double-digit tackles.
- LB Dylan Silcox forced his first career fumble.
- DB Prudy Calderon recovered his first career fumble.
- DE Roe Wilkins tied a career-high with seven tackles.
- LB Blaze Alldredge recorded his first career sack to end the first half.
