Rice faces Florida Atlantic on Saturday
Houston - Quarterback Jacurri Brown has been named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football's 2026 Midseason All-Texas team. Brown was named to the second team as the utility player on the annual team, which was announced on Tuesday.
Brown is tied for the lead in the American Conference and tied for fifth nationally with 22 rushing plays of at least 10 yards this season, while he leads the conference and is tied for third nationally with three rushes of 50 yards or more.
He ranks fifth in the conference with 669 yards on the ground, and his rushing total is the most for an Owl through seven games since Charles Ross had 798 in seven games (1013 after eight).
Brown's 669 rushing yards are the most by a Rice QB since Chase Clement had 693 in 13 games in 2008, and he is the first Owls QB to have three 100-yard games in a season since Kyle Herm in 2003.
Rice will play its next two games on the road and not return to First Community Stadium until November 14 when the Owls host Tulane for Homecoming. Rice faces Florida Atlantic on the road on Saturday at 11 a.m. and after a bye week will travel to Denton to meet North Texas on November 7.
Single-game tickets for the Owls' final two home games against Tulane and Army (November 28) are currently on sale at RiceOwls.com.
