2023: Saw action in seven games (one start) and matched his career-high with two hits and reached base four times in seven plate appearances… Singled in his 2023 debut vs. Louisiana and added his second in a start on Senior Day in his final appearance… Stole the first base of his career against the Panthers.
2022: Appeared in seven games and made three starts behind the plate… Walked five times in 11 plate appearances to finish with a .467 on-base percentage… Reached base in three consecutive games from 4/3-4/8 and scored a pair of runs.
2021: Saw action in five games, once as a pinch hitter and four times as a defensive replacement at catcher… Singled and scored a run after entering the first game at ODU on 4/17… Hit .340 with a homer and 19 RBI for the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs in the Expedition League over the summer.
2020: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Played in two games and worked his way into a start behind the plate in his inaugural season of Division I baseball… Made his debut as a substitute catcher in the top of the sixth inning against Louisiana and made a memorable starting debut against crosstown rival Houston the following night… Went 2-for-4 scored a run and threw out a base runner on the back end of a double play against the Cougars.
Prior to Rice- Three-year letterman for head coach Keith Humphreys at Stratford High School in Houston… Earned Honorable Mention All-District 17-6A as the starting catcher and team captain for a 22-11 Spartans squad that reached the area finals of the 2019 state tournament … Ranked as one of the Top 25 catchers in the state according to PerfectGame… Threw out 30% of runners in 176 defensive innings…Preseason Honorable Mention All-American by PerfectGame as a junior and senior…Back-to-back recipient of the program's "Mr. Hustle" varsity baseball award… Valedictorian, Class President, and an Academic All-State by the Texas High School Coaches Association… National Merit Scholar.
