No admission charge for 1 p.m. first pitch
Rice will close out its 2026 fall baseball exhibition schedule on Saturday by hosting McLennan Community College for a pair of seven-inning games at Reckling Park. First pitch is set for 1 p.m., and there is no admission charge.
After limiting teams to just two fall exhibition games in the past, the NCAA allowed teams to expand their fall schedules to up to four games this year, and Saturday's game will be the third for Rice. The Owls opened the fall by winning a pair of seven-inning games on the road at Texas A&M, 3-2 and 6-3, and then took two from San Jacinto JC last Friday, 9-1 and 6-2.
The Owls and Highlanders have met in each of the last four years. They split a pair of nine-inning games, with McLennan winning 9-5 in 2023 and Rice 9-4 in 2024. Last season, the schools split the two seven-inning games, with McLennan taking the opener 3-2 and Rice rebounding in the second seven-inning game, 5-3.
While the exhibition season wraps up on Saturday, the Owls will close out their fall practice schedule next week with a three-game intrasquad World Series, Monday through Wednesday. The series opens at 2:30 on Monday, followed by 4:30 on Tuesday, and then concludes at 2:30 on Wednesday.
Rice opens its 2027 season on February 19 when the Owls welcome 2026 Big 12 champs Kansas for the first of three games at Reckling Park.
New season tickets for the 2027 campaign are on sale for as low as $175, while single-game tickets start as low as $15.
Renewals for current season ticket accounts are available on their online account, with a renewal deadline of December 4th.
