Daniel Zou leads Owls Heading into Final Round of AAC Championship

Sarasota, Fla. — Freshman Daniel Zou tied a career-low, firing a 66 to tie for eighth-place heading into the final round of the AAC Championship.
He After starting the day with four straight pars, he birdied the 14th, making the turn at -1. Zou then caught fire on the second nine, starting with a birdie on the first. After a par, he carded back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes. He parred the fifth, then recorded three straight birdies before closing his round with a bogey.
The 66 was his 19th round of par or better and ninth round in the 60's this year, both of which tied the team lead.
The Owls carded a six-under par 282, tied for seventh-place with East Carolina.
Senior Raghav Chugh is in 14th-place at -4 after posting a 73. Graduate student Blake Benson fired a two-under 70 to sit at +3, in a 38th-place tie. It was his seventh round of par or better this year and the 15th of his career.
Sophomore Reggie Zhu is five-over par, in a tie for 44th-place, after shooting a 73. Sophomore Jaivir Pande, playing as a substitute for Lukas Boandl, posted a 74.
No. 33 South Florida leads the team tournament at -22, one stroke in front of Charlotte. USF's Wilhelm Ryding leads the individual competition at -10, one stroke in front of Memphis' Andrew Baucum and Seb Cave of Charlotte.
