
Golf Tied for Lead after One Round of Hoosier Collegiate

Bloomington, Ind. — The Rice Golf team is tied for the lead after one round of the Hoosier Collegiate.
The second round was suspended due to darkness after the day began with a frost delay. The Owls are tied with host Indiana at +7 after carding a 291.
The Owls carded a pair of 294's to finish the day at +12, four strokes behind second-place UNLV and Texas Tech. Sam Houston leads the team competition at +4.
Fifth-year senior Jay Kirchdorfer is tied for fifth-place at +1 after posting a 72. Junior Raghav Chugh, sophomore Lukas Boandl, and freshman Reggie Zhu are tied for 13th-place after carding a 73 to sit at +2.
Senior Blake Benson shot a six-over 77 to sit in a 55th-place tie and freshman Jaivir Pande, playing as an individual, is tied for 73rd-place at +9 after carding an 80.
Northwestern's Christopher Zhang leads the individual tournament at -1. There's a three-way tie for second-place at even par.
