Men's Track & Field Ready to Host Victor Lopez Classic

HOUSTON, Texas - The Rice Owls men's track & field team will host their first track meet of the season this weekend for the Victor Lopez Classic. The event will begin Thursday night for high school athletes and Friday for college athletes. Saturday will be a mix of both high school and college athletes.
In total, the Rice men's track & field team will have 40 athletes competing in 16 events. Live results will be provided via Flash Results Texas.
Tickets for the event will be on sale outside of the gates at Holloway Field. The collegiate portion will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday with the hammer throw event. Running events will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
with the 4x100 Relays (high school), while running events for college events will begin at 7:35 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run.
Competition on Saturday begins at 11 a.m. with the shot put. Running events will start at 1 p.m. with the 110-meter hurdles.
