Owls Open Indoor Season at UH

HOUSTON – The Rice Owls men's track & field team is back in action to open the 2024 indoor season at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational at the University of Houston. The meet will start at 9:00 a.m. for field events and 12:00 p.m. for track events.
In total, the Owls will have 17 athletes competing in nine events. Schools aside from Rice and Houston competing are Houston Christian, Lamar, Minnesota, North Texas, Sam Houston, SMU, Texas Southern and Texas State.
The Owls finished third last season in indoor track at the C-USA Championships. Alexander Slinkman represented the Owls at the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing tenth in pole vault, earning Second Team All-American honors.
