Owls Open C-USA Quest vs. North Texas

Denton: The 58th ranked Rice women's tennis team (11-8) will look to capture an eighth Conference USA championship in their final year in the conference when they open play at the C-USA Women's Tennis Championships at the Waranch Tennis Complex in Denton, Texas on Friday.
The Schedule: Third-seeded Rice will face host North Texas at 10 a.m. on Friday in the quarterfinals. The Mean Green advanced with a 4-1 win over UTEP on Thursday. The winner of Friday's match advance to Saturday's semifinals at noon to determine one of the finalists who will decide the conference title at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

North Texas: Rice is 12-5 all-time vs. North Texas, including a 5-2 win in Charlotte, NC earlier this year. Rice has won the last seven meetings with the Mean Green, three of them coming at the C-USA Championship as the Owls went on to win the title (2014, 206, 2017).
