Chugh Ties for Third at Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas — Sophomore Raghav Chugh picked up his second top three finish of the year, tying for third-place at the spring-opening Border Olympics.
Chugh carded a one-under par 71 to finish two-under. It was his team-leading eighth round of par or better this year and the 23rd of his career. It was also his fifth career top-five finish.
Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer tied for 34th-place at eight-over par after carding a 74. Freshman Lukas Boandl carded a 76 to finish 10-over par in a 45th-place tie.
Junior Rodrigo Martin finished 13-over par in a tie for 78th-place after posting a 78 and freshman Davis Byrd carded an 84, finishing in 86th-place at 25-over par.
Rice carded a 299 to finish 29-over par in 10th-place. No. 30 Baylor won the team tournament at eight-under par, 15 strokes in front of second-place Houston. UH's Santiago De La Fuente won the individual competition at four-under par, one stroke in front of Baylor's Johnny Keefer.
At the Houston Classic, junior Blake Benson had his best finish of the season, tying for 22nd-place at seven-over par after carding a final round 76.

The Owls get right back on the course next week, Feb. 20-21, when it hosts the first of three tournaments this spring, the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, played at Westwood Country Club.
