Chugh Tied for Fifth at Spring-Opening Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas — Sophomore Raghav Chugh is tied for fifth-place at the spring-opening Border Olympics.
Chugh began the day by firing a 69 before closing with a 74 to sit one-under par. The 69 was his team-leading seventh round of par or better this year and the 22nd of his career. It was also his fifth round in the 60's and the 11th of his career.
The second round was suspended due to darkness.
The Owls are in 11th-place at 18-over par. No. 30 Baylor leads the tournament at 13-under par, 16 strokes in front of Coastal Carolina.
Freshman Lukas Boandl and graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer are tied for 40th-place at six-over par. Boandl carded a pair of 75's while Kirchdorfer posted a 73-77.
Junior Rodrigo Martin is seven-over par, sitting in a 49th-place tie after rounds of 76-75 and freshman Davis Byrd is in 76th-place, carding rounds of 80-77 to sit 13-over par.
Baylor's Johnny Keefer leads the individual competition at five-under par, two strokes in front of second-place.
At the Houston Classic, junior Blake Benson is tied for 18th-place. He posted rounds of 73-74 to sit three-over par.

The conclusion of the second round begins tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. with the final round beginning immediately after. Rice will tee off with student-athletes from Louisiana Tech.
