The Details: After the teams traded runs in the first inning, FAU took the lead for good with three in the second of Cooper Chandler (1-5), who settled after the second inning and worked six innings for his third consecutive start. Garibay cut the lead to 4-3 with a homer to right in the fifth inning, his 10th consecutive home run at home. He finished the night 3x4 with a pair of RBI and scored three of the Owls four runs. FAU starter Hunter Cooley (4-1) worked into the eighth, the longest outing for a starter against the Owls this year (7.1,8,4,4,1,5).
Notable:
- The win was the sixth straight for FAU in the series.
- Nathan Becker's RBI single in the eighth inning extended his streak of reaching base to a career-high 22 consecutive games, the longest by an Owl since Ryan Chandler reached in the final 23 games of the 2018 season.
