Raghav Chugh in 12th-Place after Career Best Round at Louisiana Classics

Lafayette, La. — Freshman Raghav Chugh had the best round of his career, firing a five-under par 67 in the second round of the Louisiana Classics.
The final round, which begins at 7:30 a.m., will be streamed by ESPN+.
Chugh is tied for 12th-place at four-under par. After opening the day with a 73, he began the second round two-under through the first nine holes. Following a bogey on the fourth hole, he birdied the sixth and followed it with an eagle on the seventh hole. He bogeyed the ninth hole but came right back with birdies on 10 and 11 before closing his day with a par.
The 67 is his team-leading eighth round of par or better this year.
The Rice golf team is tied for 10th-place with Louisiana Tech at three-over par. It opened with a 293 before firing a two-under par 286.
Senior Harrison Hineline is tied for 35th-place at one-over par. He opened the day with an even par 72 before closing with a 73. The 72 is his fourth round of par or better this a year and the 16th of his career.
Senior Jake Benson carded consecutive 73's to sit two-over par in a tie for 37th-place. Junior Thomas Bockholt III is tied for 78th-place at eight-over par after posting rounds of 75-77 and junior Forrest Park is in an 82nd-place tie at nine-over par after rounds of 80-73.
No. 21 Texas A&M leads the team competition at 34-under par, 15 strokes in front of No. 25 LSU. Texas A&M's Sam Bennett leads the individual competition at 12-under par, three strokes in front of teammate William Paysse and North Texas' Diego Prone.

"We didn't have our best golf out there today, but we held it together well and made a lot of birdies. Raghav (Chugh) played a very solid second round which helped us post a low number and move up three spots. Another under par round tomorrow and we can move past some teams and create some momentum heading into the All-American."
