In Brief: Allison Zipoli extended her winning streak in singles to four matches as Rice blanked Texas State 7-0 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Friday.
Doubles: The Owls captured the doubles point by dropping only three games between the second and third lines and held a 4-1 lead at the first line when the point was clinched.
Singles: Zipoli did drop a game while improving to 4-0 in the dual season to put the Owls up 2-0 and fellow freshmen Saara Orav only dropped one game to add the third point of the day. Rice rolled to a Doubles: The Owls rolled to a 6-0 advantage while dropping only a total of 13 games and Victoria Smirnova shook off a first set loss to close out the shutout with a 10-8 win in a superset at the first line.
