In Brief: Rice (3-1) continues a stretch of four consecutive home matches by hosting Texas State on Friday at 1 p.m. and LSU on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Texas State: The Bobcats are 3-4 on the season after a win over Prairie View on Wednesday. This will be the 27th meeting between the schools with Rice leading the series 26-0. This will be the 20th consecutive meeting between the schools in Houston. The last meeting between the two was in 2020, ironically as the first half of a weekend schedule that included LSU.
LSU: The Tigers are 0-2 heading into a match on Friday vs. UCF at home. They opened the season ranked 21st in the ITA Preseason poll and fell to #20 Tennessee and #24 Oklahoma State in the Columbus Regional of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. This will be the 20th meeting between the schools and LSU holds an 11-8 lead after winning the last five meetings, including a 4-0 win last year in Baton Rouge. Rice's last win in the series came in 2015, when the Owls took a 6-1 decision in Baton Rouge. The Tigers have won both of the previous matches at GRBTC in 2016 and 2002.
