Diamond Leads Golf in Second Round of Aggie Invitational

Bryan, Texas — Junior Jack Diamond fired an even par 72 to lead the Rice golf team during the second round of the Aggie Invitational.
Diamond is tied for 22nd-place at four-over par. After five straight pars to start the round, Diamond birdied the par-5 15th hole. However, he bogeyed 17 and 18 to make the turn at one-over par. The Houston native then parred the first eight holes of the front nine before closing his round with a birdie on the par-four ninth. The 72 is Diamond's third round of par or better this year.
Junior Harrison Hineline carded a 78 to sit eight-over par in a tie for 48th-place. Senior Jake Benson and freshman Rodrigo Martin both posted 80's. Benson is tied for 53rd-place at 10-over par while Martin is 12-over par and tied for 64th-place.
Senior Rishi Kejriwal, playing as an individual, is tied for 73rd-place after shooting a 77 while sophomore Thomas Bockholt III finished with an 81 to sit in a tie for 87th-place.
The Owls carded a 310 to sit in 12th-place at 34-over par, seven strokes behind UTSA. No. 5 Texas leads the team competition at one-under par, three strokes in front of No. 1 Oklahoma.
Texas A&M's Sam Bennett leads the individual tournament at six-under par, three strokes in front of Houston's Alexander Frances and Texas Pierceson Coody.
