"Lourdes ran phenomenal today, her best cross country race ever," Rice women's XC head coach Jim Bevan said. "Ryann and Khayla also had good races. It was the first 6k for Ryann in her life. All the freshmen ran their first 6k (Ashley, Alyssa, Ryann). This was a big step for them. Mary Claire, Natalie and Loren all improved from last year (position wise) on a soft, rainy course. We have five weeks to get ready for conference and this was a good growing experience for this team."
Host Texas A&M (64 points) took home the title, followed by TCU (2nd-72 points) and UTRGV (3rd-87 points). The Owls will next head north next Saturday, Sept. 29 when they compete in the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota.
