Podlewski Earns C-USA Honor

Rice senior Oscar Podlewski has been selected the Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after posting an unbeaten mark in three matches over the past weekend.

Podlewski won each of this three singles matches in straight sets to run his season mark to 6-1, and he was also on the winning side in both of his doubles matches. Rice downed Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas-San Antonio and Abilene Christian over the weekend to run their season record to 8-2.

A senior from London, England who transferred to Rice from Elon, Podlewski was 10-10 in singles as a member of Rice's C-USA champion squad in 2010.

The 34th ranked Owls will be back in competition on February 28 when they open their Spring Break trip to California with a match against San Diego State. The trip continues with a match vs. San Diego on March 1 before wrapping up with the 122nd West Coast Doubles Championships, March 3-6.
