Kuzmenok Named American Men's Player of the Week

IRVING – Junior Petro Kuzmenok was named the American Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

The honor marks Kuzmenok's third conference award of the season and his second Player of the Week selection. He earned the recognition after a perfect weekend as the Owls went 2-0 against conference opponents with wins over Tulsa (4-0) and Memphis (4-2).

In doubles, Kuzmenok teamed with Santiago Navarro for a pair of wins, defeating Tulsa 6-3 and Memphis 6-4.

Kuzmenok also found success in singles play, defeating Tulsa's Nikita Volonski 7-5, 6-3 and Memphis' Moritz Kusernatsch 6-1, 6-4.

In the latest ITA rankings, Kuzmenok is ranked No. 54 in singles and No. 47 in doubles alongside Navarro. The duo is 18-7 this season, while Kuzmenok holds a 20-6 singles record.

The Owls will close the regular season at home in the Turpin Cup, hosting SMU on Senior Day. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m., with the senior ceremony scheduled to begin at 4:50 p.m.
