Rice Heads to 44 Farms Team Invite

HOUSTON – The Rice men's track and field team is set to compete at the 44 Farms Team Invitational this weekend at Texas A&M, with the three-day meet starting Thursday morning.
The Owls will be well represented across all three days, facing some of the top competition in the nation.
Ty Hampton and Jack Greaves will look to improve their top conference marks in the javelin, with Hampton leading the American with the only 70-plus meter mark in the conference.
Sultan Bakare enters the meet leading the American Conference with the best marks in both the hammer throw and the shot put.
Juan Marais looks to improve his best mark of the season of 57.87m, which sits second in the conference.
Three of the top five current steeplechasers for the conference will be back at it this weekend, with Andrew Murray, Brandon Martz and Riley Kuhlman all competing.
Alexander Männel is set to have his collegiate debut this weekend in the decathlon.
