After Mayo took over for Fernandez in the fifth and retired the side on a pair of strikeouts, Rice extended the lead to 4-1 on a two-run double by Nathan Becker. Mayo breezed through three hitless frames, and the Owls added two more runs in the sixth thanks to a sac fly by Pierce Gallo and a wild pitch allowing Kyte McDonald to score. Mauricio Rodriguez worked the final two innings to close out the win.
