Bio
2025: Opened impressively in his first two starts, but was lost to an injury after this fourth start of the year… Worked six shutout innings vs. Michigan at the Puerto Rico Baseball Challenge in Ponce, Puerto Rico on 2/15, holding the Wolverines to just two hits, walking one and striking out four, but saw his chance of a win end with a late Michigan rally… Struck out a career-high six in four innings of work vs. USC on 2/23 and allowed just one run on three hits over four innings… Tagged for six runs in five innings, including four home runs, vs. Texas A&M at Daikin Park on 3/2 to take the loss and was changed with the loss vs. Yale on 3/9 after working just 1.2 innings and did not pitch again during the season.
2024: 0-4 with a 3.86 ERA in nine appearances (five starts) in his first season at Rice…. Allowed 10 earned in his first five appearances (15 IP), but just two in his last 13 before his season was cut short after a collision at first base vs. UAB on 4/13… Tossed 6.1 scoreless innings in two relief appearances in the AAC with seven strikeouts and posted a 2.57 ERA in five games (two starts) at Reckling Park…. Struck out a career-high four in four shutout innings vs. Memphis on 4/13 and followed that with 2.1 scoreless vs. UAB before exiting the game... Worked a career-high five innings in start at Houston on 5/19 (5, 5, 3, 3, 2, 3)… Retired nine of his last 11 Cougars and then retired the first 11 Sam Houston hitters in his next start (3/26)… Allowed just one hit and one run in four innings in his second career start, on 3/5 vs. Prairie View (4,1,1,12,2)... Took the loss as an opener vs. LSU (1.2,2,3,3,2,1)... Retired the Tigers in order in the first... Worked two innings in his Rice debut vs. Sam Houston on 2/20.
Prior to Rice: Transfer from Miami-Dade College … Struck out 22 in 20 innings as a freshman and MDC … Played at Belen Jesuit Prep for coach Gerard Albert but missed most of his senior year recovering from an injury, but did strike out seven in 6.1 innings and saw his junior year limited to eight games due to the pandemic.
