HOUSTON - The 48th-ranked Rice Owls women's tennis team returns home for the final week of regular season competition, taking on the 49th-ranked Wichita State Shockers on Tuesday morning from the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
Rice carries a 14-5 record into the match after going 2-0 last weekend, taking down South Florida and 54th-ranked Florida International in Tampa, Florida. Wichita State carries a 12-7 record into the match after going 1-1 last week, taking down North Texas but falling to 63rd-ranked SMU on the road.
Rice is 5-1 all-time against the Shockers and has won the previous three matches against Wichita State. The Owls are undefeated at home against the Shockers, going 2-0 in home stadiums against WSU.
After this, Rice will host its final match of the regular season against Middle Tennessee. This will be the Owls' senior day, and action is currently slated to begin at 2 PM on Saturday.
