Men’s T&F Has Strong Weekend in College Station

COLLEGE STATION – The Rice men's track and field team had a strong showing at the 44 Farms Team Invitational at Texas A&M. The Owls had 16 top-10 finishers over the two-day meet.

Sam Welsh had a fantastic weekend, opening the meet with a season-best throw in the discus, finishing second, and today finishing third in the shot put.

Over on the track, Grant Samara finished second in the steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:17.28. Will McDermott and Travis Dowd had strong runs in the 5000m, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively.

In the decathlon, Luke Ivy had a personal best with 6114 points, finishing sixth.
