Men’s T&F has Strong Showing in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE – The Rice men's track and field team had a strong showing at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic this weekend. The Owls had seven top-10 finishers throughout the two-day meet. In total, 66 teams competed at the meet.
Cal Abdulky continued his tear to open the 2024 season, finishing second in the weight throw while teammate Shaun Kerry was close behind in sixth. Ese Amata finished fourth in the high jump, while Matt Kumar and Javier Alatorre provided a 2-3 punch in the pole vault-B division.
Alexander Slinkman had the top finish for Rice on day two, finishing third in pole vault in his first meet of the season.
