Men’s Basketball Goes for Season Sweep of Temple

HOUSTON — Rice will try for its third straight win this Wednesday, February 28, when it hosts Temple. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed by ESPN+.

Scouting Rice
• Rice enters Wednesday night's game with an 11-16 record and 5-9 in the American Athletic Conference. The Owls are looking for their third straight win after defeating East Carolina last Saturday, 70-52.
• Rice is led by fifth-year senior guard Travis Evee, who is scoring 16.5 points per game, tied for sixth in the American. He's adding 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 steals while connecting on 2.3 three-pointers per game, good for fifth in the league.
• Sophomore guard Mekhi Mason is second on the team with 14.1 points, and 2.9 assists while placing third with 4.0 rebounds. In conference play, he is 10th in the AAC with 15.6 points per game and fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.423).
• Fifth-year senior forward Max Fiedler is averaging 9.1 points while leading the league with 5.3 assists per game and 3.9 offensive rebounds, which is also sixth in the nation. He's second in the league in rebounds (9.4), fourth in field goal percentage (.655), and sixth with seven double-doubles.
• Senior guard Alem Huseinovic is recording 8.2 points per game and is connecting on 45.2% from the field and 41.4% from three, good for fifth in the AAC.
• Forward Keanu Dawes is scoring 7.0 points and is second on the team with 4.2 rebounds and graduate student guard Anthony Selden is adding 6.0 points.
• The Owls are scoring 73.9 points per game while allowing 75.6.
• Rice is connecting on 44.7% from the field and 34.3% from three. Its opponents are connecting on 44.7% from the field and 36.3% from beyond the arc.

• Junior guard Jordan Riley is averaging 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds and redshirt junior guard Jahlil White is third on the team with 11.9 points and leads the squad with 6.3 rebounds.
• Redshirt junior forward Steve Settle is averaging 9.1 points and 5.6 rebounds and is ninth in the league with 1.7 steals per game.
• Temple is scoring 71.2 points per game while allowing 73.9.
