HOUSTON, Texas — Rice golf coach Justin Emil announced the release of the 2023-24 schedule Thursday afternoon.
The 11-tournament schedule will see the Owls compete in seven different states and two countries, including three tournaments in Texas.
"I couldn't be more excited to announce our schedule as we move to the AAC and make a run for postseason," said Emil. "Our schedule takes us to some great venues to compete against top competition. From Cabo, Mexico to right here in Houston, we have a big opportunity ahead of us. We have a talented team with some great new recruits joining us and I can't wait to see them out on the course."
For the third straight year, Rice will open the season at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, Sept. 10-12 in Choudrant, La., and hosted by former Conference USA foe Louisiana Tech.
Three weeks later, the Owls will travel to Boulder, Colo., for the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational (Oct. 2-3), hosted by Colorado. Last year, the Owls finished in third place.
Rice makes its first trip to Kansas since the fall of 2008 when it competes in the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational, Oct. 9-10, and hosted by Wichita State.
The fall slate concludes on Oct. 28-29, when its travels to Loxley, Ala., for the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, hosted by South Alabama.
Rice begins the spring campaign on Feb. 12-13, when it co-hosts the first of two tournaments, the Bentwater Invitational, at Bentwater Country Club in Montgomery, Texas. The Owls co-host the tournament with Sam Houston.
A week later, Rice travels to Laredo, Texas for the legendary Border Olympics, Feb. 19-20. It is the fifth straight season that the Owls will participate in the event.
Rice then begins a stretch of three tournaments in three weeks when it heads to Cabo, Mexico for one of the premier college golf events on the calendar, the Cabo Collegiate (Mar. 3-5). Rice returns to Louisiana, Mar. 11-12, for the Louisiana Classics.
The Owls close their stretch when it co-hosts, along with Houston, the All-American Intercollegiate (Mar. 18-19) at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble.
Rice closes the regular season schedule on Apr. 6-7 when it competes at the Indiana Hoosier Invitational.
The Owls will participate in the American Athletic Championship for the first time in Belleair, Fla., Apr. 19-21.
NCAA Regionals take place May 13-15 at campus sites, with Texas hosting the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif., May 24-29.
The Owls return six members from last year's team, including All-Conference USA members Raghav Chugh and Jay Kirchdorfer.
