Blue defeats the Gray 38-11
In Brief: JT Daniels threw for 195 yards and two scores as the Blue (offense) defeated the Gray (defense) 38-11 in the annual Spring Game.
Details: Daniels connected with Tyson Thompson on a 44-yard scoring play to draw the Blue to within one at 11-10 before halftime and the offense rolled to four touchdowns in the second half. Ari Broussard ended a nine-play drive to open the second half with a three-yard touchdown. Daniels linked up with Dean Connors for a nine-yard touchdown after another nine-play drive. Connors added his second touchdown of the night with a seven-yard run and Quinton Jackson concluded the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown.
Mike Bloomgren: "I'm really happy about how the game went and really fired up about our spring as a whole. I thought it was the culmination of a great spring where our football team had some great growth. I thought the offense started out awfully slow. When we're able to find a way to get ourselves started coming out the gates, I think we're going to be really hard to stop. I told the team in the locker room when we play Rice football, we're a really good football team and that's a lot of fun. With the plays that were made today and the consistency the D line is playing with, I leave spring awfully excited."
