Joined Taylor McHargue as the only quarterback in school history to start two bowl games (McHargue started the 2012 Armed Forces and 2013 Liberty Bowl)… Stepped in as the starter for the final four games and set career highs for completions (71), attempts (117), touchdowns (8), and passing yards (721)… Led the Owls to the First Responder Bowl with wins in his last two starts, throwing for 395 yards (37-58) and four touchdowns, including going 24-37 for 255 yards and three TDs in the bowl-clincher vs. Florida Atlantic… Has thrown for 1,355 yards (110-194-7) with 3 touchdowns through nine games in his career and has thrown at least one touchdown in eight of nine, including the last five…Saw action on one snap vs. Texas for the only game without a TD pass… Tied the Rice bowl record with three TD passes vs. Southern Miss in the Lending Tree Bowl.

Selected by his teammates as the winner of the Liposcomb Award as the Owls’ top freshman after throwing for 634 yards in just over 2 ½ games of action…Tied a Rice bowl record by throwing for three touchdowns in the Lending Tree Bowl…First freshman to start at QB in a bowl game for Rice and he finished the game 19-39 for 295 yards… Totals for yards and completions rank fourth in school bowl history while his total for attempts ranks third… Made his debut against UTSA after Wiley Green was injured and threw for 118 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown to Bradley Rozner for his first career TD pass… Made his first start the following week against North Texas as he came home to the Dallas area and was 13-22-1 for 229 yards, including a 48-yard scoring strike to Braylen Walker… Two of his five TD passes have been for at least 43 yards, one from 32, one from 26, and one from 18.
