Owls wrap up play at Minute Maid vs. TCU on Sunday
Minute Maid Park: Texas A&M jumped on Rice for 11 runs in the first three innings and never looked back on the way to a 13-1 win in seven innings at the Shriners Children's College Classic on Saturday night.
The Details: The 15th-ranked Aggies scored three in the first, added five in the second and three in the third and cruised home to the win. Rice put a pair of runners on in the second and loaded the bases with two outs in the third, but could not break through in the scoring column until down to the final out in the seventh. Christian Salazar, who picked up his first career hit leading off the third, slapped a single to center for his first multi-hit game. He came home to score on Jack Riedel's double off the Minute Maid scoreboard in left field. Reliever Mark Perkins shut out the Aggies over the final two frames.
